You can count on several hands the number of dog walkers in Cheltenham so it was a lightbulb moment when Helen thought of a unique idea to help dogs who needed that extra one to one care.
Helen Eade is proud owner of Social Paws – a bespoke pet caring service based in Cheltenham that not only specialises in one to one dog walking but includes ongoing dog training in the price of a walk.
“The idea came about when many of my friends were finding it impossible to get a pet caring company who would walk dogs one to one. These dogs were either not suited to big group walks due to age or behavioural issues.”
But that’s not all, Helen sees Social Paws as a community in which her aim is to help offer not only a unique service and give pet care tips and advice but also help those who find it difficult to walk their dogs due to ongoing illness.
“After doing my research I found there was little help available locally for funding especially for pet care when people are ill. Many people struggle to walk their dogs at a time where they are ill or recovering from an operation and sometimes unable to pay someone due to the financial constraints.”
Helen is proud to offer ‘reduced rates’ for those who are ill in hospital and has designed a pet care package to suit all needs and budgets. She has also a profound knowledge of animal behaviour and welfare having studied a three year degree on that very subject.
“I’ve worked hard to get where I am today, doing much voluntary work including helping out at Pets As Therapy and Guide Dogs For The Blind. I also worked at the Cheltenham Animal Shelter for several years in which I gained the practical experience in animal handling.”
Helen offers one to one dog walking in Cheltenham and the surrounding areas but also walks a maximum of three dogs only from the same household. She also offers bespoke pet caring services catered to you and your pets needs including; pet siting, pet visits and animal behavioural assessments.
