Testimonials
Some of our amazing clients like to share their experience, below is just some of their kind words about Social Paws
Helen from Social Paws took time out of her busy schedule to visit my workplace (a large veterinary hospital and referral centre) to educate a team of veterinary nurses and surgeons on all things fear free handling, wildlife and avian care and behaviour especially corvids. Myself and my colleagues found the information absolutely invaluable; we aren’t a wildlife hospital hence needing the extra help for when we do have cases brought to us.
Helen was very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable, and we absolutely loved her collaborative thinking in terms of veterinary outreach and referral to bird and wildlife rescue. We will continue to work on strengthening these bonds between vets and the world of wildlife rescue and we’re very grateful for Helen’s hard work and generosity in helping us do so. By working together we can be a voice for those who need us.
Helen has been simply wonderful giving me help and advice with my anxious 18 month dog. He suddenly refused to go for walks out on a lead, and when i managed to get him out for a short walk he barked and lunged at almost everyone he saw.
Helen has given me advice and exercises to stop him barking which has given me back the confidence to encourage him to walk out on a lead.
We still have a way to go, but things are improving rapidly and we are no longer forced to take him everywhere in the car!
Thank you Helen for all your help and encouragement and very best of luck with your Corvid rescues.
I contacted Helen and Tristan for support in January 2020 because our dog was hugely anxious. He refused to walk from the house and if we had him off lead he would often get scared and run to ‘safety’. Everything was scary, other dogs, loud noises, sometimes even smells.
Tristan helped us to get him walking from the house again which was hugely helpful in the first lockdown when we weren’t supposed to drive.
Charlie relapsed again that Autumn during firework season. He got a bit better before Christmas, but New year fireworks were another set back.
Tristan started to help us again Spring 2021. This time he took a slightly different approach but slowly we saw Charlie rebuilding his confidence and getting braver and willing to go for longer walks. Regularly seeing Tristan, anxiety meds from the vet and us being consistent started to really make a difference.
Charlie still sees Tristan regularly. He is getting more and more confident so Tristan has started to work on other things with him. Having 1:1 walks has made such a difference to Charlie’s quality of life.
Choosing to adopt a cat with emotional/mental health needs, I thiught I could manage, but begin to worry a few months in. Helen’s care, patience and knowledge was so comforting and gave me ideas to try, as well as encouragement I was doing the right thing. It has taken years for him to learn some things, but I have also learned he may never manage some things. Helen’s support has been so valuable and I have a happy cat. Thank you.
I have the pleasure of knowing Helen through the per professional network. She is one of the most professional and caring people I know. I have learnt so much from Helen and anyone who is thinking of getting help with their dog round that area I would highly reccomened. Helen works in a kind force free way to build a long standing relationship with you and your pooches xx
